Williams & Yates plan and manage removals to Scandinavia and the Nordics, moving households from the UK to Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland for families, their PAs and household managers, and corporate mobility teams. A dedicated move coordinator leads every move across our European removals. When you are ready, arrange a tailored home survey.
A Nordic move is typically a long road leg north, and most addresses need a further bridge or sea crossing. We usually agree the delivery day first and work back to the crossings, and your coordinator is your single point of contact.
A full household travels on a dedicated vehicle. A smaller consignment may suit a part load, and our guide to moving house by sea, air or road explains the choice.
We survey in person or virtually and complete the inventory for you. A PA or household manager deals with one person who already knows the answer, and a project manager can fly out to direct the crews alongside them. One move can combine several collection addresses, and you choose a debris clear or full white-glove unpack.
Fine art and design pieces are crated in our in-house crating workshop. Belongings can wait in our storage in London and Dunstable or at your destination. We are FIDI/FAIM and Which? accredited, and members of BAR and IAM.
Scandinavia usually means Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The wider Nordic region adds Finland and Iceland, plus three self-governing territories. We move households from the UK to the four mainland Nordic countries, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, so whichever term you searched, your move is covered.
The road enters on Jutland, while Copenhagen sits on Zealand across the Great Belt Bridge. Central apartments are often courtyard walk-ups.
Removals to DenmarkTwo routes lead in: over the Øresund Bridge into Malmö, or on TT-Line’s freight ferry from Travemünde to Trelleborg. An island home in the archipelago adds a water crossing to the plan.
Removals to SwedenOf the four, only Norway sits outside the EU, so belongings are declared to Norwegian Customs under its own household goods relief . One road border is Svinesund on the E6, crossing from Sweden.
Removals to NorwayReaching Finland takes the road and then a Baltic freight ferry. Many homes are apartments in managed buildings with house rules the survey takes into account.
Removals to FinlandThe road leg crosses the Channel on LeShuttle Freight or by ferry, as our removals to France do, then heads through Germany. There the road forks: Denmark by land, Sweden by bridge or Baltic ferry, Norway and Finland further north. Your coordinator chooses the route around your address and ferry timetables, and advises on timing.

Since Brexit, a move from the UK to any of these countries is an import from outside the EU. Denmark, Sweden and Finland are EU members. Norway is in the EEA but not the EU, and EFTA notes the EEA Agreement does not entail a customs union, so it sets its own customs rules.
Relief for used household goods depends on each country’s conditions, set by the Danish Customs Agency and Swedish Customs, and each country page covers them. Alcohol, including wine collections, is handled separately. UK Transfer of Residence relief only applies if you later return.
Your coordinator prepares the paperwork with our customs agent. British citizens generally need a residence route for each country, so we plan the removal once that is settled.
Your coordinator starts with a survey, in person or virtual, and plans everything from there. Get in touch or call 0208 081 0188 to book yours, or return to our European removals.
Talk To Our TeamFor good furniture, design pieces, art and collections, careful moving is usually worth it, because they are rarely easy to replace. On long road moves, most households we survey send the design pieces and rebuy the everyday ones, deciding piece by piece.
A dedicated vehicle suits a full household. It carries only your belongings, so timing and handling stay under one plan when bridge, ferry and city delivery must line up. A part load can suit a smaller consignment or a second home.
Look for independent proof rather than online recommendations: FIDI/FAIM accreditation, and BAR membership with its payment protection guarantee. Then ask whether one contract covers the whole route, who handles customs on each side of the border, and who you will speak to throughout.
