A recent Mayfair move
An international private principal engaged Williams and Yates to coordinate the relocation of their primary London residence, a lateral apartment within a Grosvenor Estate mansion block on Mount Street. The move was the final stage in a phased consolidation, the client having retained the Mayfair apartment while relocating the majority of their household to a primary residence in Switzerland with us the previous autumn. This move was to clear and close the London residence, with the entire contents distributed across multiple receiving destinations.
The client’s private office oversaw the project and was the sole point of contact throughout. Every communication, document, and decision was routed through the principal’s family office manager, with strict discretion applied to addresses, inventory, and timings.
The Mount Street mansion block sits within the Grosvenor Estate and is subject to the estate’s access and works approvals in addition to standard listed building protocols. Our Move Coordinator submitted the estate office application twelve working days ahead of the move, coordinated a single-morning loading window with the building’s head concierge, and arranged a Westminster parking suspension for a dedicated lorry on Mount Street. The entire move was completed before midday to minimise disruption to the residence above and the restaurant below.
The contents fell into two groups. The first was moving their remaining items to their Swiss residence. The second group, comprising a selection of works the principal wished to place with family members, was delivered to three separate UK addresses over the following fortnight, each accompanied by our crew and a condition report countersigned on receipt. No single element of the move required the principal’s direct involvement. The family office manager noted that the project was closed within the agreed budget and timeline, and the Mount Street residence was handed back to the managing agent in broom-clean condition the following working day.
