Types of crates
There are many variants of crates that we often build at Williams & Yates. Whether it be a standard 2D crate, designed to take a single piece or collection of artworks, or a 3D crate, used to transport sculptures often of an irregular shape. Museum crates can be made to keep together and protect a collection of items of importance whilst not on display, in storage or during transportation. A frame crate not only protects the piece inside, but it is designed to hold an oil painting at an angle that may be prone to paint slippage.

All of our cases are created from FSC & PEFC Certified wood to meet all international shipping requirements whilst protecting against changes in temperature & humidity, ideal for shipping and storage. In addition, this material prevents water ingress and abrasion, it is ideal for being handled by both manual and mechanical means.

Crates when you need them
We offer a fast and reliable service to have crates made, even at the last minute. Our team of crate makers work through the night to enable fast turnarounds. If a crate is required to transport an item, the timing will not be a limitation to the service required at Williams & Yates.
