5000 cubic foot move including multiple specialist items

A detailed move plan was put together with a single point of contact managing all elements of the move. There were multiple requirements from the client that were taken into account to ensure that everything was completed on time and to Williams & Yates’ high service levels.

• 5000 cubic feet to be packed, wrapped and moved to Idaho, USA,
• Specialist crating and protection for 10 metre long antique sculling boat.
• 500kg safe to be moved and placed into position in the new property.
• Full end to end representation provided with the collection and delivery being completed and overseen by Williams & Yates staff.

  Williams & Yates end to end

  The organisation of the move is key to an international move with many different elements involved. We provided our client with a single point of contact for the operational move and a single point of contact in the office to manage the shipment, customs clearance and customer service.

  • Initially an on site survey was completed with the client  in order to put together an accurate move plan that suited our client and worked operationally. This was followed up with multiple calls with the client out of hours to understand the level of detail required and to make relevant changes to the plan. Multiple alterations were made to the move plan and quote throughout this process.
  • We provided end to end on site project management. This made communication very clear and easy throughout the  moving process. The same project manager then flew to Idaho, USA to manage the delivery . The paperwork and inventory management was completed by the same person in the UK and USA, ensuring things went as seamless as possible. This is testament to the premium service level required for Williams & Yates’ clients.

Packing & Wrapping

Export wrapping for international shipment

Our full packing & wrapping service was completed of all items within the property. A team of 5 technicians completed the packing and loading of the property over 5 days. It was important to ensure that items were clearly labelled due to the size of the properties and the nature of many items being delicate and requiring specialist equipment.

Crating of antique sculling boat and fragile items

Upon completion of the survey measurements were taken for number of items around the property. In particular a 10 metre antique sculling boat that had recently been refurbished required moving. With it being imperative that the newly varnished exterior stay without any cracks to ensure the structural integrity of the piece we had a specialist foam line crate made to protect the boat during the 5000 mile journey.

Specialist safe moving

A 500kg safe needed to be loaded from the property and delivered in the USA. With our services including complex art installs, we have the knowledge of moving such items.  In addition, we have the contacts to arrange a specialist in the USA with a winch being provided to carefully lower the safe from the shipping container to ground level.
