Documentation
– Valid passport
– Visa or residency permit (if applicable)
– Proof of residence in France (e.g. property deed or rental contract)
– Inventory of all items being shipped
Duties & Taxes
– Personal effects imported as part of a permanent move can usually enter France duty- and tax-free and the goods have been owned/used for at least 6 months
– All shipments are subject to customs inspection
– New items (under 6 months old) may be subject to duties and VAT and original purchase receipts may be requested
– Personal belongings must arrive within 12 months of your arrival in France to qualify for exemptions
– Alcohol and tobacco are subject to duty and must be declared in full with quantity and value

For smaller consignments, we operate groupage services several times per month, allowing us to deliver your belongings promptly without the cost of a dedicated vehicle. If you’re working to a fixed timeline or moving a full household, we can provide a dedicated vehicle to deliver directly, often within 1–2 days of a confirmed booking.

Do you cover more remote areas of France?
Yes, we regularly move clients to countryside homes, mountain properties and rural villages across France. Our own vehicles and drivers ensure we can reach even the more tucked-away addresses with ease, and we’ll plan access carefully in advance.
